Gordon V. Smith,
Mr. Smith has been a frequent lecturer at the National University of Singapore and
Singapore Management University as well as for IP Academy Singapore, WIPO, and
other global institutions. He has authored and co-authored books and articles that have been
translated extensively and are considered authoritative sources worldwide.
Mr. Smith has been helping to develop IP Valuation standards in Southeast Asia,
where he contributes with regional organizations.
Mr. Smith co-founded RoyaltySource in 1997. Since then, his guidance as an experienced IP appraiser
has been paramount to the proper collection of IP data and to the judicious development of proxy search designs.
Mr. Smith earned his BA from Harvard University in 1959.
Dave founded RoyaltySource® in 1997
after 13 years of serving the IP industry
as a valuation and litigation specialist.
With almost 30 years of experience in
these areas, Dave leads this team of
experts. His experience and advice
ensure that clients get the most
accurate and reliable data.
He is often enjoying outdoor activities along
the Delmarva Peninsula shoreline.
Dave holds a BS in Finance from
Robert has been a part of the RoyaltySource® development team since its foundation in 1997. He oversees research, content development and information technology development.
Robert enjoys renovating homes and visiting family members in Jamaica.
Robert is a graduate of Swarthmore College and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
Client Services Manager
Beth has been a part of the RoyaltySource® development team since its foundation in 1997. Her more than 20 years of experience are essential to our exceptional customer service and technical support.
She enjoys maintaining long-term relationships with friends and supporting the goals of family members.
She has completed university level accounting and finance courses.
Val joined the RoyaltySource® team in 2006 after working with the software development team at FMC, Inc. She directs our information technology development and support.
Val loves to cook and can often be found snorkeling in the Caribbean with her husband during the winter months.
Val earned her Advanced Computer Programming degree from the Computer Science School in Philadelphia, PA.
Diane joined RoyaltySource® in 2003 as our lead content developer and trainer. Her research and analytical skills were honed as part of AUS Consultants' financial consulting services beginning in 1996.
Diane enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors whenever possible, and travelling.
She has completed many university level courses throughout her career at AUS.
Kathy's contribution to content
development at RoyaltySource® began
in 2005 after transitioning from a
career in healthcare services. She has
not only been instrumental in content
growth and training, but she also
plays a key role in administrative

She holds a BS in Agricultural Business
and a Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State.
Melissa assists in content
development for RoyaltySource®. Her
corporate experience, and knowledge
of preparing and filing financials
and disclosure documents with
the US SEC are invaluable.
She is often found volunteering to help
troubled teens or dyeing and spinning yarn.
Melissa holds a BS from Drexel, and a
Masters in Finance from Keller.
RoyaltySource has been tracking intellectual property news and licenses related to technology (patent, know-how, trade secret, and business method), software, trademark, trade name, brand or logo, copyright and right of publicity for 30 years.
We apply a two-tier screening process to ensure the most comprehensive database, without the inclusion of irrelevant records.
Using proprietary technology, our IT specialists pre-screen the massive amount of information, selecting only those transactions containing
